E-Service Laboratory
The TSSEED Project has partnered with the Development informatics (DI) Research Group- a multi-disciplinary Research Group in the College of Computing and Information Science at Makerere University. The Partnership focuses and supports training and workshops in ICT 4D and e-services.
The group partnership is housed in the e-services laboratory has hosted a number of research talks and seminars as a channel or platform to establish research networks, collaborations and for graduate students to receive valuable feedback on their present research. The group focus focuses on studying and the creation of Information Systems that address problems in a socio-economic development context.
This is motivated by the fact that several researches have established that for ICTs to reasonably contribute to socio-economic development in developing countries, designers/developers must understand users and develop for their contexts. Our key research themes are:
- Human Computer Interaction (HCI)
- Usability & User Experience (UX) Design & Evaluation
- Co-Design/Participatory Design (User Centered Design)
- Digital Inclusion
- E-Services
The group makes its home in the E-Services laboratory and has hosted a number of research talks and seminars as a channel or platform to establish research networks, collaborations and for graduate students to receive valuable feedback on their presented research.
